The median cost of a house is $1,006,800 while the median rent is $6,500, which is, respectively, 196% and 437% higher than that of Maryland. The median household income is also $200,346.
Chevy Chase Village
While Chevy Chase Village is a fantastic area in which to live, it’s also quite expensive. It’s cost of living is deemed as 182, it’s median housing value is $1,055,800, and the median rent is $2,600. The median household income is $254,081.
Chevy Chase
Chevy Chase is a town of around 3,000 people who deal with a cost of living that is 165, but have the benefit of having a median household income of around $205,000. The median housing cost is $846,000 while the median rental cost is $2,450.
Clarksville
While it’s not as expensive as the other aforementioned communities, Clarksville is still high up there. The cost of living is deemed as a 138, and the median household income is $123,625. The median house value is $519,000 and the rent is $2,200, which is, respectively, 52% and 82% higher than that of Maryland.
Keep in mind that in Maryland, the median cost of a home is $339,961 while nationally it’s $200,419. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the aforementioned towns dubbed “Chevy Chase” were not named after the actor, but instead, taken from the name of a plot of land from the 1700s.
